About the Role
The role of the Permissions Coordinator is to assess, administrate, and secure third-party intellectual property permissions for use in Global Academic products. This involves adhering to established processes, copyright restrictions, budgets, and schedules.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Research and secure permissions according to product requirements.
  • Ensure permissions gained are appropriate for OUP use and accurately administrated.
  • Amend work as necessary to meet agreed schedules and requirements.
  • Support the Permissions team’s administrative needs, depending on team loading and in agreement with the Manager.
  • Adhere to workflows, established processes, and system requirements to enable effective and transparent delivery of work.
  • Contribute to improving workflows and processes.
  • Develop and maintain clear, effective, open, and professional communication with key stakeholders (e.g., editors, freelancers, pre-press and IP suppliers, design team, manager).
  • Update systems and databases in a timely manner so content and information are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure that permissions fulfillment practices adhere to the overall vision for workflows and best practices, following standardization and simplification across workflows in HE Editorial.
  • Prioritize data accuracy and ensure good data hygiene is built into change and improvement projects.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Experience clearing third-party permissions within a publishing environment is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, time management, and organization skills.
  • Ability to learn about and utilize new technologies and have good numerical and data interpretation skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, self-motivation, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment.
  • Proven track record of project management, successful innovation, content development, and delivery of goals.
  • Ability to work productively with peers and cross-functionally within the matrix management structure of the Press.
  • Excellent written communication, as well as strong interpersonal and verbal skills.
