About the Role
We are looking for a talented Account Manager who will offer pre- and post-contract support and product promotion on behalf of OUP’s Academic Division (AD) to enable the UK Academic division to achieve its sales targets in assigned territory of Mainland China and maximise profitable sales and long-term development of the market.
Key responsibilities:

Promotion – promote all Oxford Academic Products to institutional customers and government accounts in order to maximise interest in assigned territory and protect market share

Planning – plan all pre and post contract support across territory, sectors, and resources in order to maximise interest in territory, and contribute to regional strategy

Key Account Management – develop and implement account specific strategies for key accounts in assigned territory to deliver strong annual growth and compliment team activity

Networking and relationship building – build and nurture relationships with senior staff (e.g. Library Directors, Key Customer Sales Directors and Heads of Schools) as well as senior level administration staff responsible for departmental or institutional wide purchasing decisions

Communication – establish and maintain regular communication with local account team and other functions, as well as the teams from other regions, in order to work knowledgeably and efficiently

Market Research – research market for new promotional possibilities in order to identify areas of interest and to feedback to Academic

Industry knowledge - maintain a demonstrably thorough knowledge of the electronic information/print publishing industry, its products, markets and trends and OUP’s position in it, to help maintain our competitive advantage. Likewise, maintain a comprehensive knowledge of OUP’s electronic product offering as it develops

Data analysis - gather internal/external data and scrutinise data on regional/project level using data tools, interpret statistical info to support team and look for new opportunities/sales channels

Sales Campaign- plan, coordinate and lead sales campaigns/ special projects on a regional/ project level based on market data analysis
- Cross-functional campaign coordinator and collaborator - serve as campaign champion and contact window to both account owners and cross-functions, oversee the progress and quality of campaigns, ensure quality and success of local sales campaigns.
About You
Essential:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience of marketing and/or promoting of OUP products
- An understanding and appreciation of higher education – the environment, structure and key challenges within the sector and China
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly skilled in using software packages such as Excel, with a proven aptitude to learn and work with new systems
- Ability to effectively manage a high volume, complex workload through prioritisation of tasks in line with departmental objectives
