About the position
We are looking for a Educational Consultant to promote the Caribbean, UK and International Education resources across appointed territories in the Caribbean region. Responsible for safeguarding and developing a positive company image in the marketplace.
The selected candidates must be a creative and enthusiastic self-starter with exceptional selling, organizational and customer-focused.
This role should be based in Trinidad & Tobago.
Responsibilities

- Sales and Market share: Through agreed calling tactics and strategies, you will help OUP achieve its agreed targets for specified areas so that budgets are met or exceeded for Education Division resources, and net divisional surplus objectives are met.
- Consultative techniques, product & territory knowledge: You will demonstrate effective consultative techniques following agreed training models. You will use your communication and presentation skills in order to present our portfolio impactfully. You will strive towards a full working knowledge of our Caribbean, UK, and other International Education product. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor product and activity in the market, and feed back to the wider team as necessary. You will undertake customer-facing presentations as required in your key markets, using available presentation tools where possible.
- Territory management: You will be allocated specific countries/markets to focus on and will follow the school visiting guidelines with input from your line manager. All trips will be planned, carried out and followed up effectively to bring desired results to the region using travel and expenses guidelines. You will complete trip reports to feedback to the wider team on trends, opportunities and risks, and you will produce a Territory Action Plan for each of your markets. You will generate new business through seeking new relationships, channels and networks and develop non-established markets to find new opportunities for OUP list. You will be responsible for capturing and interpreting data in order to identify trends and opportunities, and will keep track of the competitive landscape in order to inform successful market strategy. You will respond to customer and colleague enquiries in a positive and efficient manner, ideally within 48 hours.
- Customer relationship management: You will ensure that positive customer relationships are maintained with schools, suppliers, and educational organisations. You will ensure that school customers across your territories are well serviced. You will undertake virtual and face-to-face appointments in line with your agreed KPIs, identifying customer needs and positioning our core portfolio. in line with these needs wherever possible. You will ensure that all activity and customer data is logged on Sales Force on an ongoing basis. You will work with our UK Team to support and keep regular contact with our key Marketing Services Providers (MSPs) across the region, ensuring enquiries are responded to efficiently, and ensuring activity undertaken by these third parties streamlines with our promotional focus.
- Team work: You will work collaboratively within the team and the wider Press, sharing ideas and working through any issues or problems. You will display a willingness to take part in projects outside your market as requested by the Area Manager.
- Self Management: You will manage yourself on a day-to-day basis working towards agreed targets, termly priorities and departmental objectives. Trip reports, Sales Force updates, diaries, expenses, and office forms will all be kept up-to-date and submitted in a timely manner. All systems will be used effectively, and you will highlight any training needs to your Manager.
- Representing OUP across the International landscape, furthering OUP’s global mission, and operating within OUP’s International Education business with the highest standards of professional and ethical business practices, in line with OUP’s values and Code of Conduct: You will adhere to the Group Ethical Code of Conduct. The role presides over a high risk territory for compliance. You will adhere to all compliance guidelines and ensure they are embedded in business processes. You will help to ensure all third parties understand and adhere to our Code of Ethical Business. You will commit to red flagging any breach of these guidelines immediately to our Divisional Compliance Officer. You will ensure media relations are well managed and that no comments are made to the media without the required consultations. You will adhere to Group policies and governance standards

This is a full-time role. Travelling will be required.
